Histórico: así ha sido el ORGULLO en BOMBAY.
El Orgullo siempre es una fiesta fabulosa sin importar dónde se celebre, pero la multitud de miles de personas en el Queer Azaadi Mumbai Pride March 2019 tenía un motivo extra para celebrar: Fue la primera celebración del Orgullo de Bombay desde que la Corte Suprema de la India despenalizara la homosexualidad al declarar inconstitucional la sección 377 del Código Penal de la India.

"Esta es la primera vez que participo en el Desfile del Orgullo de Bombay", dijo el Mr. Gay India 2019 Suresh Ramdas a The Times of India. "Es una locura, divertido y colorido. Estoy especialmente emocionado porque después de la Sección 377, la atmósfera es muy enérgica".
Por su parte, el activista por la igualdad de derechos Harish Iyer, hablaba sobbre las poblaciones LGBTQ del país y sus aliados para continuar la lucha: "Hemos ganado la batalla en la Sección 377, pero hay muchas más por ganar. No vamos a detenernos hasta que compartamos la igualdad de derechos con los heterosexuales... La anulación de la Sección 377 fue sólo un clavo en este ataúd discriminatorio. Hay muchos más que necesitamos martillar y cerrar de una vez por todas."
